Very cool Smith & Wesson 38/44 model with 4'' barrel and nickel finish. Original factory gold box included. Very fine historic Smith & Wesson excellent condition. Brilliant case colors on trigger and hammer and clear nickel finish. Factory letter documents shipment to Walter Tips an Austin Texas dealer for sales to Austin Police Department in 1956. Austin PD #145 marked on backstrap. Factory letter details factory refinish in 1966; couldn't tell looking at the revolver. Very historic Texas police issued Smith.
