PRE-WAR Original J, RIGBY 416 "BIG GAME' features a 26" step barrel with quarter rib. Proper No. 20 Mauser Oberndorf Square Bridge Magnum action and deep belly 4 shot magazine. One of only 170 or so examples built before WWII. Seldom does one of these come on the market. The Rigby 416 is without doubt the most iconic safari rifle ever made. This example delivered August 8, 1919 to Capt. A. Mathias just after the Great War. The rifle shows honest wear and a lot of character. Bore is perfect and the action slick as only the originals can be. T he wood to metal is in a wonderful state of fit and finish. Stock length 14" to a Silvers pad. A true working Safari rifle, if only she could talk! Don't settle for an imitation!!
