Description: PENDING This is a very nice M1854 Lefaucheux 12MM Pinfire Revolver. This one has a serial number that falls in the range of the revolvers issued to the 2nd KS Vol. Cavalry. Serial munbers 32999 and 33119 are documented as being issued to that unit. The revolver is in overall very good condition. The metal has a uniform mellow blue coloration. The Lefaucheux trademak and serial number appear on the right side of the frame. The maker name and address apear on the top of the barrel. There is also a partially visible trademark on the left side of the frame. The grips are near excellent. The action is crisp. The bore is very good. The revolver is complete and original. I will mention that there is a small area on the frame under where the loading gate rests that has a row of very small knicks, I do not know if it was made like that or it was caused by use. It does not distract from the appearance of the revolver but it is there. Overall this revolver would be an upgrade in many collections and the serial number is only 8 away from a documented issuance to a Civil War Cavalry Unit. SOLD Antique: Yes |
