Description:
1892 SADDLE RING CARBINE IN HARD TO FIND .32-20 CALIBER, #338XXX, MADE 1906. It seems most of the '92 saddle ring carbines encountered today are either .25-20 or .38-40. The .32-20 and .44-40 are becoming elusive and difficult to find. This is a nice example that retains fine barrel and mag blue that shows light wear on the tube bottom ahead of the forearm. The receiver shows good blue on the sides and bolt with normal heavy edge wear and wear to the receiver bottom. Fine blue on the loading gate. Fine wood with tight wood to metal fit. The forearm appears to have been lightly gone over, but not sanded and still has good wood to metal fit. There is one ding on the left side of the forend by the rear sight dovetail. The saddle ring and staple are intact, the action is tight with a solid safety half-cock notch. The bore is slightly dark with strong rifling all the way through and maybe some slight frostiness that is fairly minor. Overall, a fine shootable bore. Correct carbine ladder rear sight with slide intact.  A handsome 116 year old 1892 carbine in a desirable caliber with lots of blue.
