Payment Types Accepted: Description: On Hold Sale Pending This is a Antique Hudson Bay Company Northwest Trade gun, made in 1885 in England for trade with Native Americans in the US and Canada. Trade guns like the Barnett Musket were often shorter and lighter than traditional muskets. This one is 46 inches and has a 30 inch barrel and was shortened during its period of use which was common in the past. The percussion lock is marked Barnett,London, 1885 with the Seated fox and functions fine. The correct serpent (dragon) brass side plate is present. The 30 inch smooth bore barrel is also stamped with the seated fox and correct proof marks near the breach and appears to be 62 caliber approximately 20 gauge. Another component come to these trade guns is the large oversized trigger gaurd. All metal parts are in good condition with a brown patina. The stock is also good with normal handling marks.
