The Winchester Model 1912, or more simply Model 12, became an instant hit on its introduction. So smooth and fluid is the action that the Model 12 earned the epithet of 'The perfect repeater'. All Model 12's are built in a take-down configuration, a couple of quick operations separates the gun into two transportable pieces with all parts captive, making for easy cleaning and storage.
This Winchester Model 12, SN 1159693 was manufactured in 1948 and is notable condition. The barrel, receiver, and trigger guard show factory original 98% blue with a small area of handling wear at the forward edge of the receiver and at the carry point. All roll marks are clear and sharp, the 28” field barrel has a mirror bore and is marked FULL, there is no thinning of finish at the muzzle. The gun is stocked with nice straight grain Walnut, the forearm is Winchester’s new flat bottom grip designed to improve accuracy and balance (introduced in 1947), the wood is in excellent condition, it is capped with a Winchester hard rubber plate.
