Description:
Lake Erie Chemical Company 25mm flare/signal Mk IV pistols. This is a consecutively serial numbered pair of pre-WWII vintage pistols with the US Arsenal “flaming bomb” proofs on the underlug and breech face of each pistol.
Etched (maybe electric pencil) on each pistol, on the left side is 599-288 on SN: 1850 and 599-291 on SN: 1849 and each signed “JB”.
The Mk IV flare pistols were first used in WWI and continued production into the late 1930’s. They are made of nickel plated brass and have walnut grips.
