Description:
With a .62 cal.,and a  37” part octagon / part round barrel with a bright excellent smooth bore. The iron surfaces are primarily a pewter silvery gunmetal patina, the barrel with scattered light oxidation and pitting in the flash areas at the breech. It features a simple square stud front sight which acts as a bayonet lug, turned medial at the point of transition and a couple of facsimile oval touch marks at rear.. The lock and swan neck cock feature only light borderline engraving with a small chiseled tail on the frizzen spring, the bridled frizzen showing a brass pan protector; there is some light oxidation present on the attendant parts. There is a simple brass band at the nose, thimbles and tailpipe with a Bess-like brass triggerguard, the long tang of the brass buttplate showing light engraving with a martial panoply. The American walnut stock rates excellent with very few handling marks at all and sharp edges, and has a nice un-engraved fancy brass monogram plate atop the wrist. The lock seems to function mechanically and what is likely the original ramrod is present. A nice modern bayonet with hand sewn scabbard is included. The blade measures 10” with an overall length of 13 3/4” showing a bit of very light oxidation. A quality modern Italian or Belgian copy of an officer's fusil. Top of barrel has two oval proofs like the 18th century, buy I can't determine source. A super quality dark walnut stock is correct in keeping 18th century form. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith  before  shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.   We don’t have a web  site .I prefer money orders or a check.  Item ships when funds come in. I try to keep guns  affordable, which means I make less money than most dealers. You won’t get altitude sickness, or nose bleed, with my prices! I consistently have the best selection of  older guns If you attempt to buy,  you must still contact us for details . Best to email to buy. Sometimes a local person can stop buy and purchase before the gun is removed.  Sometimes not home to get calls. Some guns are required shipment to a gun dealer near you for a transfer to you when it arrives. Otherwise many older or black powder guns ship to your door. With the widest selection of older guns at great prices, We don’t have a store, and sell on the internet only.  I’m easy to get along with. Thank You
