Description:
Title doesn't mean much until,you consider the other beautiful rifles I've owned. Griffin & Howe, Champlin Haskins, Holland & Holland and Purdy among others. This 1951 Pre-64 model 70 30-06 custom stocked has some very fine metal features including a pre-war style contoured tang and bolt handle plus checkered bolt knob. Rear sight boss thinned down on the sides. Overall stunning metal work above and beyond the norm. Magnificent walnut stock completes the package, only flaw I find is the top of the recoil pad showing some age .cracks. No way could this be reproduced for twice my price in todays market assuming you could find someone who could do this quality work in your lifetime. $2898 plus $60 insured shipping.
