Description:
7.62x51mm SPRINGFIELD ARMORY U.S. M1 GARAND Infantry Rifle SA C&R

"The greatest battle implement ever devised"- George Patton

Here we present a C&R U.S. M1 Garand Rifle, manufactured circa October 1943 at Springfield Armory in Massachusetts. This was the standard U.S. service rifle during World War II and the Korean War and also saw service during the Vietnam War. Most were issued to U.S. forces, though some were also provided as foreign aid to American allies. To say that it was and is highly regarded would be an understatement. In the words of General Patton, “In my opinion, the M1 rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised.”

This rifle features a Springfield Armory receiver made in 1943. The bolt is marked D28287-2SA/RE5C. The front of the pistol grip of the stock is marked with a “P” and circle “P” is directly behind the trigger guard, the face of the bottom of the pistol grip has the crossed cannons Ordnance mark. The top of the comb is marked 2239 at the heel. There are faint cartouches on the left stock flat including a boxed “SA”. The barrel is marked 7.62 MM SA 11010457 6 65 BU18 P M with a punch dot and the boxed Ordnance eagle. The trigger group is marked IHC D6528290. The op rod is marked NM and 7790722-RA. The receiver leg is marked B12B and D 28291 30.

The overall condition is very good. The action is excellent. The bore is in fine shape with great rifling, measuring .300. The stock is solid and shows some honest wear.
