A RARE CUSTOM SHILOH SHARPS, BIG TIMBER, MONTANA RIFLE! 1874 No. 1 SPORTER, .45-70 WITH 30" OCTAGON #3 BULL BARREL. This is a pistol grip, shotgun butt and cheek piece model with double set triggers. The wood has been upgraded to a very nicely figured piece of dark semi-fancy walnut. The forend has the optional upgraded traditional pewter forend tip. The #3 bull barrel is also called the "sixteen pound" barrel and measures 1.31" across the flats at the muzzle. One my postal scale this rifle weighs right at 17 lbs. It is further fitted with an extra long range tang sight adjustable for elevation and a globe front sight that is fully windage adjustable. The barrel was custom ordered without a rear sight dovetail- a rear sight would only get in the way of the tang sight usage at shorter ranges. Overall, this one has seen almost no use and appears in about new condition. Shiloh does a small run of "bull barrel" rifles every few years and rarely do these come up for sale. The catalog price for the rifle & sights along with a several year wait and probable price increases along the way would be about $4400. My price on this rifle is $3850
