CLASSIC PRE-WAR OFFICERS MODEL HEAVY BARREL TARGET REVOLVER, .38 SPECIAL, 6" WITH SERIAL NUMBER 643XXX, MADE JUST BEFORE THE OUTBREAK OF WORLD WAR II IN 1940. With hand fitting and action tuning, the Great Depression Era Officers Model Colts are some of the finest revolvers ever made by a major manufacturer. This example is in excellent+ condition inside and out showing only some minor freckling toward the left muzzle and some barely visible freckling on the right side of the frame (visible when the light hits at a certain angle) and a tiny spot on the butt- all of which yo have to seek to find. Hardly a cylinder line is barely visible. The sharply checkered medallion walnut grips are excellent as is the mechanics and bore. Retains about all the blue on the front face of the cylinder indicating that it was rarely if ever fired. Checkered back strap and trigger. A class act.
