VERY FINE CONDITION RARE CALIBER 1894 SADDLE RING CARBINE, .32-40 CALIBER, #439XXX, MADE 1909. This was the least produced caliber of the whole 1894 line and especially hard to find in a carbine. This is a fine example that shows fine, lightly thinning/ageing blue on the receiver sides and bolt with good blue on the loading gate. The mag tube shows fine deep blue only lightly aged and the barrel also shows good blue that is mixing plum. All markings are sharp and clear and the screw heads look mainly unturned. Stock and forend show normal light handling with tight wood to metal fit. There is the usual hairline crack in the forend tip coming back to the barrel band that is minor and common. The rear sight is a two leaf express sight. Action is crisp and the half cock notch is solid. The bore is excellent and only slightly dark with strong rifling. Overall a very scarce caliber 113 year old 1894 carbine in nice condition.
