Description:
“Last Ditch” Arisaka rifles were a final effort by the Japanese to turn out as many firearms as possible – which meant cutting a lot of corners. These rifles have become very collectable. This particular one has a Very Crisp "Mum" that has not been ground off making it even more rare. These symbols were removed from "surrendered rifles" Most of the rifles with Mum's still intact were GI captured bring backs. This can be identified as a last ditch by the use of the overly simplified rear sight and barrel bands that have been crudely installed onto the rifle in a rush at the end of the war. It has good rifling untill about 3" from the end of the bore where it becomes pitted and worn. The bolt is missing the cocking block and firing pin. Stock has a Crack in the grip. Own a unique piece of history. No import markings
