Description:
Smith & Wesson Model 29-2, nickel-plated, .44 magnum, double-action revolver, with 6½-inch, half-lug barrel; fluted cylinder; original wood grips; target trigger (0.400-inch wide) with grooved face; target hammer (0.500-inch-wide spur) with checkered spur; open adjustable rear sight; and fixed front sight blade with red insert.  The gun has a three-screw configuration, with one screw (#3) under the grip.  The overall length of the gun is 12 inches, and the overall height is 6 inches.  Its unloaded weight is 3 pounds, 0.8 ounces.  Accessories include the original wood box and nothing more; there are no papers or other accessories.  Year of manufacture probably 1973-1974, maybe 1975.

The overall condition of this gun is 99 percent.  The left stock shows a small amount of discoloration at the bottom, and the right side has a couple very small scratches also at the bottom.  There is a small (1/3 inch by 1/8 inch) worn area just below the thumb groove and to the left of the S&W seal; it is through the varnish, but not through the stain.  Otherwise, the stocks and the rest of the gun are practically perfect.  The metal has no blemishes or other mars.  Even the usual cylinder-lock ring is very light, and there is only a trace amount of carbon on the front (barrel-end) of the cylinder, both indications of light shooting.  The checkering on the stocks is deep and crisp, with no wear.

The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details.  Contact me for additional photos of any area you would like to see or see better.

The buyer pays USPS Priority mail ($25) and insurance ($30.50).  Insurance is calculated from the USPS - $10.35 for the first $600 of insurance, plus $1.55 for each additional $100 of insurance (rounded up) above the first $600 dollars.

The fastest way to get this gun is to pay with USPS (U.S. Postal Service) money order, as they are like cash.  I will ship the pistol immediately upon receipt of a USPS money order and an FFL.  As USPS money orders are limited to $1,000, this purchase will require two USPS money orders.  I will also accept a personal check and other types of money orders, as well as bank checks and cashier's checks, but I will hold the gun until it clears my bank; this includes bank checks and cashier’s checks.  I do not accept credit cards, debit cards, or PayPal.

Check or money order must be made out to Jerry Pownall (not Barboursville Arms).
