SALE PENDING. JF Smythe 20 gauge boxlock extractor. JF Smythe was listed in Nigel Brown's book British Gunmakers, Volume Two, Birmingham. Gun was made in 1897. The company ceased operations in 1932. This gun is an Anson & Deely design with scaled 20 gauge receiver and a rib extension third fastener. Auto safety. Barrels are 28 1/4" with Mod (16/1000) and Full (26/1000) chokes. Bore measurements concur with stampings on the flats. Chambers are 2 3/4". Mirror bores with no corrosion. Tight on face / no loose ribs / no cracks to wood. Weight of gun is 5 LBS 6 1/4 OZ. Nicely figured stock. Correct period recoil pad. LOP is 14 1/4". Drop at comb - 1 1/2". Drop at heel - 2 1/4". Shipping is $50. This is a real light and solid gun!
