Description:
Extremely rare Krag Jorgenson 22 long rifle carbine built by Springfield Arsenal in 1905. This unique single shot carbine has a 22" Stevens-Pope barrel with a mint bore. The rifle is built on a Krag 1898 action similar to the Krag 22 practice rifles used by the military. Very few of these rifles were built by the Springfield Armory for select customers and for shooting teams. This one has Lyman rear peep sight and Lyman target front sight. In order to have the firing pin hit the rimmed cartridge, the bore is offset at the breech but is dead center at the muzzle. A true testament to Harry Pope's machining skills. The rifle is in excellent original condition. A rare and unusual Krag variation for the serious Krag collector. Built in 1905,so it is C&R eligible. Price includes shipping to your FFL or C&R.
