This is an Italian made Pietta, one of the top two makers of guns that reproduce the basics of the 1800s guns, with updtated machining and meta.
This 1851 Marshal Engraved Octagon Barrel 44 caliber six shot is just beautifully made.
It is one of the smoothest I've handled from Pietta or others that. Taylor & Company guarantees to be of the highest quality. They have them make special editions like this one in a very limited supply. I heard about it six months ahead of tiime and ordered 4. I was only allotted one. Unbelievable white metal. Just awesome.
Black Powder has become much easier to prepare and shoot over the last 15-20 years, with a donut of prepared powder to drop it, then the cloth or another fabric donut, the bullet, and the sealant donut of was on top. Put the firing caps on and it is ready. I was not fond of having to measure the powder out, pour it in, then cloth diaper piece, then the bullet, and last, bear grease, or something similar.
This gun was designed for the quick draw, I am told by some SASS guys I know. One of them that received this same pistol told me he had great accuracy out to 75 yards within a pie plate and 100 yards an 8" Teflon serving platter.
These guns do not require any FFL restrictions, and can be sent to you at whatever you designate as the receiving address. No BATF forms are necessary.
