This is a very unusual Fayetteville rifled musket. It has an iron nose cap, buttplate, trigger guard and bands. This is a very unusual Fayetteville rifled musket. There was one other sold at with brass butt plate and trigger guard, but other wise identical to this one. It was out of the Norm Flayderman collection and sold by Morphy's . Speculation is that the Richmon Armory used battlefield collected parts and in this case filled the Fayetteville lock and hammer to a model 1861 rifled musket
