We offer you a “High Condition” High Standard Semi Automatic Type 2 Model HB .22 Exposed Hammer Target Pistol Manufactured in 1949 with Original Box.
This 73 year old High Standard semi automatic pistol wears a 6 ¾ inch barrel that has a mint bore. The pistol is in excellent (PLUS) condition as you can see in the pictures. It comes with the original box that is in excellent condition. Inside the box is the original instruction manual with a parts list on the reverse side. There is also the original warning card about the half-cock notch not intended to be a safety. It has the original two-tone magazine as pictured which is also in excellent condition. The left side of the slide is marked “HI-Standard / Model HB”. The left side of the frame is marked “Made In U.S.A. / The High Standard Mfg. Co. / New Haven, Conn. / Patent Pending / .22 Cal. / Long Rifle”. The right side of the slide, front grip strap and the end of the original box all show the matching serial number of “299774”. The second type model HB features an external safety and were manufactured from October 1948 through May 1949. The serial number range of this version is 274,197 through 311,535. It is estimated the total production was around 22,000. This pistol being in this condition with the original box and paperwork represents a great investment opportunity not often found.
