This Type1 Remington model 51 was manufactured in 1919 and wears a very low 3-digit serial number of PA 913; “PA” for Pedersen Automatic. Being an early gun it wears the top legend that reads ““THE REMINGTON ARMS-UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE CO., INC. REMINGTON ILION WKS. ILION, N.Y. U.S.A. PEDERSEN’S PATENTS PENDING.”. The slide has nine - 9 vertical serrations and no markings on the slide and no caliber designation on the barrel. The magazine bears the caliber marking and the “U” on the bottom. The original bluing is in very fine condition and shows small spots of rust that have been cleaned off properly. But that left some small spots of pitting as you can see. There are also surface marks and scuffs from use over the last 103 years. The left grip is in very fine condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The right grip is the same but with the exception of one small chip at the bottom as pictures. The bore is in excellent condition with no issues and the pistol hand functions just fine. It is not often a 3-digit serial numbered model 51 comes to market. This will be shipped fully insured to your FFL dealer USPS Priority Mail for $25 with signature required.
