Here we have a beautiful honest and true Colt Police Positive Target model chambered for the .22 long rifle cartridge though it will shoot shorts and longs as well. This model is very interesting in that it has adjustable front and rear sights. A screw on the right side of the front sight can be loosened to all adjustments of the front sight insert and the rear has a screw that can be loosened to allow windage adjustments. Witness marks help keep track of sight position. The Colt Police Positive Target is very well balanced and proportioned. The hammer spur and cylinder release are checkered for more sure operation. This Colt is in great overall condition and retains a large portion of its original blue. The Colt does show various scattered signs of handling, high-edge wear, and has started to develop a nice patina. The 6" barrel has a shiny bore with strong rifling. The DA/SA trigger is very precise and the cylinder lock-up is very good. The hard rubber grips are clean and sharp with one small corner chip on the right side. This gun is a hidden gem that is often overlooked and would make a great addition to an existing collection or begin a new one.
