Here we have an honest and true Colt Police Positive chambered in .32 New Police (.32 Smith & Wesson Long) made in 1920 in Hartford, CT. The Police Positive is a small frame 6 shot double-action revolver that was available in several calibers. Designed primarily for sale to federal, state, or local law enforcement agencies, the Police Positive was introduced into the firearms market by Colt's Manufacturing Company in 1905. This example is in great condition overall with only slight high edge wear, scattered handling marks, and slight discoloration. The 4" barrel has an excellent bore with strong rifling and some holster wear at the muzzle. The cylinder release and hammer are checkered for positive grip and operation. The action works perfectly and the lock-up is very tight. The gun has a blade front sight and a trough rear. The right grip has one small chip which can be seen in the photo of the butt of the gun. This fine revolver would make an excellent addition to an existing collection or a great beginning to a new one.
