I am reducing the size of my Merkel collection and am offering several fine examples for sale here. These guns were purchased by me while stationed in Germany.
This Shotgun is dated 1984. It has all the correct markings and there are NO importer’s markings anywhere on the gun. Made in Suhl Germany.
Engraving: Hand Engraved animal scenes with 3 piece forend. Left side setter / three grouse w/game scene fill. Right side two dogs and four ducks w/game scene fill. Bottom scroll. Medium Depth engraving.
Barrels are 28in. and Imp. Cyl - Imp. Mod. chokes and brass front bead and wide rib. Inside is like a mirror with no rust or pits. Action is tight and free of rust. LOP is 14 3/8 in. to the end of the butt plate. Hand removeable Sidelocks.
This Merkel 203e is in great condition, 98% Blue. Wood is dark oiled finish in great condition. See pictures below. It has been fired very little as it has been a part of my collection since about 1988. I have never fired it.
Today's value is in excess of $ 15.000.
This is a fine example of a great shotgun. It will definitely make some collector very happy.
This is truly a great value for an investment or just a beautiful gun to hunt with.
