Description:
Here we have an honest Savage Model 430 over/under double barrel shotgun chambered in 16 gauge. The model 430 is mechanically the same as a 420 with upgraded features like the grade of wood used in the stock and forend, checkering and matting of the top of the barrel. The 26 inch barrel has an excellent bore, 2 3/4 inch chambers, an elevated bead front sight and is choked fixed full and modified. It looks like the butt pad was replaced at some point possibly to increase the length of pull. The gun has some high edge wear and the top lever has a few spots of finish loss. The trigger guard has had most of it's finish worn away. This Savage is in good overall condition and has earned a few character marks over the years. The wood is free of cracks or chips. There are still lots of years of hunting left in this handsome gun.
