Description:
NEVER FIRED
Smith & Wesson Model 57 (no dash), .41 Magnum revolver, with a 8 3/8-inch pinned barrel, fluted cylinder, original wood target stocks, target hammer - 0.500” inch wide with checkered spur, target trigger - 0.400” wide with grooved face, open micrometer rear sight; and fixed front sight blade with red insert, and a blued finish.  The revolver has a three-screw configuration, with one screw (#3) under the stock.  The overall length of the gun is 14 inches, and the overall height is 6 inches.  Its unloaded weight is 3 pounds, 5.3 ounces.  Accessories include the original wood box with oil paper, original papers, cleaning-kit storage compartment with lid, screw driver, cleaning rod, bore brush, and bore mop.  Original papers include Smith & Wesson Safety & Instructional Materials for Your Smith & Wesson Firearm booklet, Authorized Warranty Service Stations brochure, Authorized Smith & Wesson Warranty Service Centers card, Firearms Safety Depends on You booklet, Smith & Wesson warranty card (blank), Smith & Wesson Ammunition brochure, and a Smith & Wesson knives brochure.  Based on its serial number, the date of manufacture is about 1980.

The overall condition of the gun itself is 100 percent.  I hesitate to call any gun 100 percent that is not new-in-the-box, but this gun has no marks of any kind on the metal or wood stocks.  The bluing is perfect, as is the finish on the stocks; neither shows any signs of wear, except the normal cylinder-lock ring, which is very very light, almost not visible.  There is no wear on the muzzle.  The checkering is deep and crisp and also has no marks of any kind, including wear.  The gun is practically perfect.  However, after intense examination, I found two very small marks on the butt, both on the right stock - one about in the middle of the stock and one at the front end of the stock.  The owner says the gun has never been fired.  I found no indication that it has.  I believe him.  The wood box is in excellent condition with only a few minor dings on the exterior.  The interior formed plastic bed with blue imitation-felt covering shows a little soiling and some wear where the gun has laid.  The foam rubber with blue imitation-felt covering in the lid is near perfect.

The buyer pays USPS Priority mail ($30) and insurance ($30.50).

The fastest way to get this gun is to pay with USPS (U.S. Postal Service) money order, as they are like cash.  I will ship the pistol immediately upon receipt of a USPS money order and an FFL.  I will also accept a personal check and other types of money orders, as well as bank checks and cashier's checks, but I will hold the gun until it clears my bank; this includes bank checks and cashier’s checks.  I do not accept credit cards, debit cards, or PayPal.

Check or money order must be made out to Jerry Pownall (not Barboursville Arms).
