- 31.5" blade
- 38.5" total length
- Blade marked "U.S. DFJ 1862" on one side and "Emerson & Silver Trenton NJ" on other
- Brass hilt
- Knurled hand grip
- Brass-mounted steel/aluminum scabbard with intact frog hook
- D.F.M Union inspector's initials. Dexter F. Mosman inspected swords at Emerson & Silver from 1862 to 1865
