Presented here is a very cool retro Winchester Model 57 bolt action rifle chambered in .22 long rifle. The Model 57 was introduced in January 1927, with stocks arriving at the Winchester warehouse in August 1926. It was designed as a small, compact and well-built target rifle, equipped with a heavier stock and a sight combination suitable for target shooting. This particular example is a grey patina gun with most of it's finish having been worn off over the years. This gun has a 22 inch barrel which has a good bore with strong rifling. Sights are a blade front, folding open rear and a target aperture rear sight. The stock is in very good condition with no dents or dings. Front and rear sling swivels would make installation of a sling very easy. This neat rifle would make a great target rifle or a fun way to spend the day in the squirrel woods. The somewhat shorter length of pull would make it ideal for a smaller frame shooter.
