Description:
Just acquired a Reblued Colt 1911 WWI .45 ACP pistol. The gun had light pitting and was lightly polished to smooth the slide and frame and then reblued. The bluing is a nice deep blue and evenly applied to the gun. I have tried to take photos that show the rework as accurately as I could. i am not sure if the barrel is original, but the bore and chamber are mint with no pitting. There is a proof mark "P" on one side of rhe locking lug and a "H" on the other side. The slide and barrel locking lugs and grooves are in very good condition and do not show a lot of wear. The trigger is nice and crisp and gun does not appear to have been shot a lot. I also believe the barrel has be lightly gunsmithed to provide a tighter lockup. The takedown pin, magazine release, hammer, and safety look quite new and may be new parts, although the hammer is a 1911 style. The front and backstrap are quite clean and only show very light pitting. The grips are not 1911 style and the replacements appear new. The magazine is also a replacement and not an original.
