NSN, .58 caliber, 33"" round barrel. Whitney Model 1841 Mississippi rifle with a lock plate dated 1851. Metal is a plum patina finish and brass is an untouched mustard patina. Wood shows some ""combat"" use with wood loss noted at the rear of the front barrel band. Action does not hold at full cock, nipple shows heavy usage. Great looking Civil War Era gun!
