Colt antique 1860 Model Army Round Cylinder, .44 Cal Percussion. SN 49607 on all component stampings and grip. Matching serial numbers on all marked items including grip, frame, barrel and trigger housing. 

The Colt Army Model 1860 is a cap & ball .44-caliber single-action percussion revolver used during the American Civil War made by Colt's Manufacturing Company. It was used as a side arm by cavalry, infantry, artillery troops, and naval forces. The Colt Model 1860 was the most used revolver during the American Civil War and was used by both sides of the conflict. It uses a rotating cylinder that can contain 6 rounds of .44 cap and ball and fired from an eight inch barrel. 

Issued in the year 1863 from Colt with faint naval engagement scene on the cylinder. 

Grips wooden two piece.

Blue Book: 1860 Model Army Round Cylinder, to 50,000 range, most were sold to the U.S. Government.

Military inspectors' SS mark on left of breech, D on grip near hammer,  OO and W on cylinder. Attachment notches for rifle stock on bottom of grip and side of frame.

Comes with modern decorated brass black powder flask.
