First off this rifle may not be the queen of the fleet but it is a very rare and seldom seen for sale 1891 Marlin First Variation. Only about 5000 First Variations were manufactured. All were a side loading, .22 caliber, and had short magazines. Again very rare .22 rifle. Reciever is a gray patina with no original finish. Barrel and magazine retain no original finish as well. Bore is rough. Correct and original front and rear sights. Very nice barrel address and showing correct patent dates for a First Variation. Forend is in good condition, showing normal handling marks and a piece missing on the right side (see pics). Rifle is missing some internals, breech bolt, buttstock, buttplate, and main spring. This rifle is an antique and can be shipped directly to your doorsteps. If you don't want to pay over $10k for a nice one, here is your chance to own project at a reasonable price.
