20 gauge. 27 inch chopper lump barrels marked Holland & Holland, 33 Bruton Street, London. Game rib marked Cavalier De-luxein gold. Coin-finished scalloped boxlock action engraved with foliate scroll and game scenes: left side: 3 pheasants in gold in a field setting, right side: 3 quail in a stylized woodland setting, floorplate: spaniel with woodcock in a woodland setting, quail on triggerguard bow and woodcock on toplever. No. 7 on triggerguard. Gold-inlaid banners: right side Holland & Holland left side: Upland Bird Special Edition, and floorplate: One of Ten. Furniture is coin-finished. Ejectors. Rolled triggerguard, Automatic safety. Finely checkered straight-stock of highly figured walnut. Vacant gold oval. Drop points. Checkered butt. Finely checkered splinter fore-end with Anson release.
Cased in a canvas covered trunk case with leather corners. Brass hardware, leather straps, cleaning rod. Maker’s black leather label.
Condition: New, unfired. Case in excellent condition with slight evidence of wear.

Note: This gun was Number 7 of a set of 10 “Upland Bird Specials” that were produced by Holland & Holland at the end of the manufacture of the Cavalier models. The barrels and action were made by W&C Scott as with all Cavaliers. The guns were stocked, finished and regulated at the Holland & Holland factory and shooting range. They were commissioned by the American Historical Foundation.
