Description:
Factory letter states it was shipped to Ben Kittridge and Company, 1874 Sporting Octagon rifle, Caliber 45x2-7/8th, full octagon 30 inch barrel, double set triggers and open sights. The price was $46. Barrel has serial numbers that are 3 off from the upper tang numbers. This must be a factory error. Forearm appears to match perfectly. Very good bore. Good markings. Wood is generally good with a crack from the front forearm screw to the end of the forearm tip. It is solid. Rifle style buttplate. Barrel has turned mostly plum/brown with traces of blue in protected areas. Receiver shows traces of case color and has turned mostly a nickel color. Mechanics are good.
