Here we have a very unique 1968 mfg English made Webley & Scott MKIV break action revolver chambered in .38 S&W caliber. The Webley Revolver (also known as the Webley Top-Break Revolver or Webley Self-Extracting Revolver) was, in various marks, a standard issue service pistol for the armed forces of the United Kingdom, the British Empire and the Commonwealth, from 1887 to 1970. The Webley is a 6 shot top-break revolver and breaking the revolver operates the extractor, which removes cartridges from the cylinder. This particular example is in great physical and mechanical condition and all functions operate as they should. The action locks up tight when hammer and trigger are in the fired condition and the top break action operates smoothly and closes tightly. The 4 inch barrel has a bright bore and strong rifling. The hard rubber grips are in outstanding condition and on the bottom of the grip is a lanyard loop. There is some high edge wear and the finish is thinning in some areas. The sights are a notched rear and blade style front. This gun has English proof marks and American import marks. If this gun could talk and tell it's history it would likely be very adventurous and eventful. A wonderful addition to a collection or a great beginning to a new one.
