Payment Types Accepted: checks, cashiers/bank check, money order Description: NEAR MINT CONDITION PRE-WAR CLASSIC .38 HAND EJECTOR M&P 1905 4TH CHANGE, 5" BARREL, #678XXX. This was the bread & butter model for S&W and was found on the hips of most law enforcement officers across the country. In fact, it was the standard for just about everyone when the .38 Special was king. Serial numbers ended at 758296 in 1942 at the beginning of World War II. Judging from that, I would assume this one was made 1939-1940. As with all of these Great Depression Era S&Ws, fit and finish was impeccable. This one retains about all the high polish blue with perhaps a small spot of barely thinning on the back strap that you have to look carefully to see. The front face of the cylinder shows all the blue indicating this revolver was probably never fired. All crisp markings and excellent matching numbered diamond checkered medallion grips. Exc. case color on the hammer and trigger, perfect inside, barely a cylinder line. Just needs a box. This kind of craftsmanship will never be made again. These were made in large numbers with different barrel lengths and nickel or blue finish, but finding s blue example in this condition is now difficult.
