Description:
This is a fine example of a Remington Double Deringer Type II (Model #3) with a production run from 1888 to 1911. This has a LOW 3-digit serial #406. The Double Deringer was made by Remington from 1865-1935, which is a testament to the functional and dependable design as well as Americans’ desire to carry concealed weapons.
Original bluing is exceptional and at least 85%. The barrel has good rifling and is frosted internally. All markings are good-plus and the hard-to-find mother of pearl grips look almost new with no cracks. The hinge feels tight and the action is strong. This derringer shows minimal use but has the obvious light pocket edge wear. I would shoot this without hesitation and it is defiantly a “Collectors Keeper” seldom seen in this condition.
