Description:
Here is a N Starr model 1816 contract with a Springfield musket. Very rare with around 90% original brown, original flint with some case colors remaining. Mechanically excellent and a perfect bore appears never been fired.
It's like a Mirror. There is a replaced upper sling swivel. The stock has been lightly cleaned probably in the 1950's with a light cartouche in front of the upper part of the buttplate. There is staining from oil many years ago. The top of the US marked buttplate probably left that way at the factory. The light cartouche wouldn't be visible if harshly sanded.
