SN:431034. Barrel is 28"" half round half octagon and is threaded. Express three leaf rear sight is marked ""WF Sheard"". Stocks are deluxe walnut and beautifully figured. There is a crack at the wrist on the left hand side that will need repair. Bore has strong rifling with pitting. Action works properly. Metal has a grey and brown patina. Tang is marked ""Marlin Model '97"".
