***SOLD*** Incredible, near mint condition Pre War Model 70 30-06 with extremely rare government markings. The only one I have ever seen! The wood has a deep stamping of RIA above FK3 which is surrounded by a square border. The barrel has a small flaming bomb stamp. From what little I can gather, this rifle must have been in the possession of the Rock Island Arsenal circa WWII for testing or training purposes and apparently never issued, since it looks virtually new showing 99% metal finish and about 98% on the wood. The bore, bolt body, and mechanical functions are of course all like new as well. S/N 47606 made in 1941. Any ACCURATE information from a sane and polite expert with knowledge beyond my description would be most welcomed, but by all appearances, this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity to collect such a significant firearm, and especially in this condition and at this price.
