Offered for sale is a collection of Civil War Muskets. This one is a very scarce S.N.& W.T.C. for MASSACHUSETTS .58 cal Musket. Only 3000 of these were made in 1863-1864 making this one of the very scarce contract muskets ever made. This one made in 1863 has an exceptional bore, bright with strong rifling. Excellent, crisp action. It would be hard to find one much better than this. 2 faint cartouches opposite the lock that appear to have a light coat of varnish added over sometime in the past.
