Description:
Collectible Pre-64 Model 70 all original as it was ordered from the factory. Records show this rifle with serial # 16832x was made in 1949, with 26" barrel in caliber 300 H&H. Weight is with sling 8 Lbs 2 oz.
Descendent of original owner says only 10 rounds were ever fired with this rifle.
Most of original blueing is intact, except slight loss on trigger guard edges. Bead style front sight with hood. Rear sight is Series 3-C with elevater style ramp. Safety is second style with larger thumb piece. Bolt is inscribed with rifle serial number. Bore is bright and clear with well defined rifling.
Walnut stock has checkered pistol grip, original sling swivels and original metal checkered buttplate. Stock shows a few marks or dings from handling. Overall, gun is in excellent condition for a 73 year old rifle.
