Browning FN Euro market C-2 Grade 12Ga.
Serial number # 76255-S7. Year of MFG. 1967. Barrel specs: Length 67 Cm, or 26 ½”. Chambers 2 ¾”. Chokes: Bottom barrel .005” Skeet, Top barrel .006” a pinch tighter, Skeet. Stock dimensions: DAC: 1, 1/2” DAH: 2”, LOP: 14 1, ½”. To a KICK-EEZ shaped pad. Bradley white front bead-sight. Weight: 7# 1 oz. A heavy competition skeet gun.
The C-2 grade is roughly equivalent to the US market Pointer Grade. This example started its journey in Great Britain as indicated by the British proof mark from the Birmingham England proof house. A feature of the FN Euro market guns is the absents of the Gold-plated US market trigger. In its place is a very tasteful silver trigger.
As you go through the photos pay particular attention to the spectacular game scenes and, landscapes. Also note the beautifully executed scroll work. Another feature of note is the rare rounded and scalloped receiver. In addition is the teardrop points on the cheeks, or head of the stock. This is unique to high grade FN series guns and rarely appears on US market guns. Later this treatment was discontinued as being far too costly. It was held for custom, or special orders.
This signed piece is the art of Lilly Lambert Master engraver. Lilly’s career spanned 34 years. From 1946, to 1980 until her retirement. She was mentored, and an understudy of such FN-Browning engraving masters as Funken, and Vrancken. Offered at $5,300.00
