VERY NICE Turn of the Century SELF DEFENSE Revolver
Here we present a C&R Iver Johnson Double Action Top Break .38 S&W Revolver, made circa the early 20th Century in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871. The company continued to operate until 1993. This revolver was designed to be small and concealable for self-defense.
This revolver is chambered for 5 shots of .38 S&W with a 3-1/4-inch barrel. The grips are the trademarked owl hard rubber grips that are normally seen. The top of the barrel is marked “IVER JOHNSON ARMS & CYCLE WORKS / FITCHBURG, MASS. U.S.A.
The overall condition is fine. Original finish. The bore is in good shape and remains clear. Strong action. Sharp markings. Both grips are in good shape and the right side is missing a chip.
