Savage Repeating Arms Company model 1895 carbine in great condition. This rifle was produced in 1895 for Savage in the Marlin factory. It is stamped JM for Jacob Marlin on the underside of the barrel. These early rifles were only produced for a few years and this example is even extremely rare as it's a carbine model. The 1895 appears to function as it should and is in great shape for being 127 years old. The rifle still retains a good bit of its original bluing and the wood is free of cracks or missing pieces. Being an early model Savage it has the window on the top of the receiver that identifies if the rifle has been cocked, this feature was dropped on the 1899 and 99.
