*** SOLD *** SOLD *** "Exhibition Grade" 1911 (serial # 111791) Savage 1899H Featherweight take-down in the coveted 22 High Power with 20" lightweight, rapid taper, interrupted T/D thread barrel in "excellent plus" condition, with a shiny bore. Looook !!! at this grand old Savage. After a phone conversation with David Royal, I was informed that it has stippling, with borders, on the receiver, forearm metal and lever boss, that appeared on some 1899s. The little amount of bluing on the lever boss, that was not stippled, is high gloss. Mr. Royal also informed me that it has A5 checkering on the high grade stock wood and forearm. All matching numbers, excellent bluing and strong case colors still remain. 1909 patent date on the barrel and 1911 patent date on the rear sight. Taking up the rear, a Lyman peep sight mounted as well. Thought possibly to be built as a factory exhibition gun to show its craftsmanship and quality, prior to the release into production. Possibly the earliest recorded serial number (early 1911) for this model and caliber. 1899H in 22 HP were not released into general production until 1912. Don't miss the opportunity to own this flagship of the Savage 1899 line. $100 S&H to most of the lower 48. Eight far west states at $120 S&H.
