Description:
Excellent late 1800s .40 black powder, set trigger, very clean. Beautiful brass and wood, brownish finish metal excellent. Lock works perfectly. Clearly marked G GOLCHER, lightly decorated. Barrel approx 30".  Some historians say that about half of the antique muzzleloaders back then (1840s onward) were equipped with Golcher locks, starting with Joseph Golcher, Several men in the family were gunmakers. It is known that Geoge's brother Thomas Golcher was a gunmaker in Philadelphia in the time of our Revolution, and produced guns for the Safety Commitee there. His brother Geoge was active in Philidelphia from around 1880 to 1894.                      It wil be well packed. Payment by USPS MO please. PRICE REDUCTION BY $100.
