We offer you a “Gorgeous” Steyr-Mannlicher of Austria Model M Half Stock Rifle chambered in 7×64mm Brenneke caliber made in May of 1984.
This model M is from a collection and has been sitting in a gun safe for decades. It has a few very minor marks in the wood with no signs of wear or use on the metal. The only distracting feature is some small cracks in the front area of the trigger guard-magazine housing as shown.
It wears a 23 ½ inch barrel that has an excellent bore with no issues. The rear island sight and front ramp sight are still with the gun. The Walnut stock features skip line checkering panels with a gloss finish and the brown factory recoil pad with the Steyr logo. The pistol grip has a walnut grip cap with white spacer and a white diamond shaped piece set into it on the bottom. The forend has a rosewood tip with white spacer.
The right side of the barrel and the right side of the chamber ring are each marked with an Eagle proof, the “NPv” final smokeless proof and “STF” date code. “S” is May and “TF” is 84”, so it was manufactured in May of 1984. The right side of the chamber ring is marked with the serial number “166099” as is the bottom of the barrel. The right rear of the receiver is marked “MADE IN AUSTRIA”. The left side of the barrel is marked “Gun South, Inc. .B’ Ham. Al. 7x64”. The left side of the receiver is marked with a Steyr logo and “STEYR-MANNLICHER-M”. The bottom of the bolt handle is also marked with an Eagle proof, the “NPv” final smokeless proof, “STF” and the last two number of the serial number “99”. This model holds 5 rounds in the magazine and has the optional double set triggers as pictured.
On top is a set of Steyr scope bases and rings that hold a Swarovski Optik Habicht Nova 2.2-9x42mm scope with a 30mm tube. It has the heavy crosshairs that end bluntly with very fine crosshairs at the center. I have shown a very close representation of that in the pictures. The scope, mount and rings are in excellent condition as is the complete package.
This will be shipped fully insured UPS Ground to your FFL for $75. This rifle will be shipped in a heavy double walled foam lined cardboard box that we have manufactured for us so that your gun arrives safe.
