ONE OF THE TRUE RARITIES OF THE EARLY POST-WAR PERIOD IS THIS MINT CONDITION .22 LONG RIFLE OFFICIAL POLICE REVOLVER WITH ULTRA RARE 4" BARREL, #37XXX, MADE 1952. All .22 LR Official Police revolvers are fairly scarce and nearly all were made with 6" barrels. Some of the Colt books don't even mention a 4" version regarding the Official Police Model. Mainly, these were used as training guns for police departments to save on the more expensive .38 Special ammo. This example appears unfired. Aside from a faint cylinder drag line and some minute edge wear, it retains all the blue including the front face of the cylinder. These were fitted with the factory "Coltwood" wood grained plastic stocks and in this case are in perfect condition. One of the lesser known Colt rarities! This is a superb example.
