Description:
Serial #D12922, .30-30, 24 inch “JM" marked barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is the 3rd variation model 36 marked “Model 36-A-DL" on the barrel and featured a blued receiver and plain pistol grip manufactured in 1947. The metal surfaces retain about 90% original blue with several light handling and tool marks, light edge wear and some minor bearing loss around the receiver and lever. The walnut stocks rate good to about very good and have moderately flaking added finish over light dings and other handling marks. The buttstock has a few small cracks and light to minor chipping around its edges, a Pachmayr vented recoil pad has been fitted to the butt; a set of fixed swivels have been added. The front sight has been replaced with a high brass bead front blade, the rear sight dovetail has been filled with a blank and the area around it has been ground to blend and remains a mottled gray. A Redfield adjustable rear sight has been mounted to the rear of the receiver and the upper tang is tapped. The action appears to function correctly and this would make a terrific rainy day rifle.
